Rob Aigner

Rob Aigner loves all sports.

Growing up in Portland, Oregon Rob competed in multitude of athletic endeavors.  He was most accomplished as an alpine ski racer, winning the Oregon Youth Alpine Championship in 1978 and going on to be nationally ranked in giant slalom.  He attended the Mission Ridge Ski Academy and was sponsored by Elan and Solomon.

Rob was also a varsity wrestler, tennis player and yes soccer player.  In fact, Wilson High School was the Oregon High School state runner up his senior year.  Many of his teammates went on to play at the collegiate level (two turned professional) while Rob further pursued his ski racing dreams.

Rob graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Journalism and attended NYU to do graduate work in Psychology.  While in New York, Rob worked in the advertising and publishing fields for several top advertising agencies and magazines.  He ultimately ended up at Rolling Stone magazine where he was an advertising executive for over 8 years.

In the early 2000’s Rob made a career pivot and entered the real estate industry.  20 years later he is an owner and investor in seven Keller Williams Realty franchises throughout California that cater to over 1,500 real estate professionals.  He also operates several ancillary businesses (insurance brokerage, escrow, etc.) and actively invests in real estate.

Rob has been married for 23 years to his lovely wife Sharon (a speech pathologist) and has two sons, Jake 19, and Micah 15.  Jake plays soccer at the University of Puget Sound in Washington state and is currently a sophomore studying business.  Micah is well on his way to playing in college while currently playing academy soccer in Los Angeles as a high school sophomore.

Aside from Rob’s love of sports and high school soccer experience,  he has become an important fixture in the youth soccer community in Southern California.  He has been on the board of directors for Total Futbol Academy for 9 years  (one of the premiere MLS Next Clubs in Los Angeles) helping with fund raising, community outreach and gain media exposure..  He has also worked with the US Soccer Foundation to bring more community awareness to the benefits of playing soccer .  He holds a US Soccer D license and has coached countless youth soccer matches as a first assistant, helped clubs with scouting opposition as well as finding talented players.

Rob writes about soccer for his local town newspaper and is thrilled to be a contributor to Soccer Parent Lifestyle magazine and put his Journalistic background to good use.

Wells Thompson

  • Soccer, faith, and his relationships have shaped Wells into the man he is today. Wells' 9-year career as a professional soccer player (#5 overall pick in the 2007 MLS Superdraft and 2010 MLS Cup winner to highlight a few of his accomplishments), coach, entrepreneur, and ultrarunner adds a wealth of insights and experiences to the services and impact at Soccer Resilience. He now has the opportunity, and is passionate and driven to use his experiences and Soccer Resilience to inspire and equip others to reach their full potential, on and off the pitch. When he's not serving with Soccer Resilience, he's spending time with his amazing wife Daphne and their three boys (Soul, Kylan and Declan), serving on the board of Hydrating Humanity (a nonprofit providing safe water, education and hope in developing nations), and training for and running 100 mile ultramarathons (crazy, right?).
  • "As a 9-year pro, I didn't intentionally invest in the mental side of the game. But, if I could go back, I would absolutely make that investment. The fact that I didn't is the biggest regret of my career! I've learned that life is truly lived between the ears. And there are so many tangible and practical things we can do to become all-around happier and healthier people. Soccer Resilience for me is turning my pain into purpose, and using the beautiful game to change the world for good!"
  • Professional and Leadership recognition

    Dr. Brad Miller

  • Dr. Brad Miller, Psy.D., a licensed clinical psychologist, has spent over 20 years helping youth and adult athletes grow their ability to control their performance anxiety and stress, persevere and improve their overall performance. Brad played at Wake Forest University (1989 ACC Champion), and as a lifelong soccer player, coach and parent, he knows a thing or two about the game.
  • "As an ACC Champion at Wake Forest, for the first time in my life, my performance anxiety turned my sanctuary into a battlefield.  I became my toughest opponent. This pain has become a gift because it fuels me to help players grow their resilience mindset so they will not go through the struggles I had as a Division I soccer player. This is why I have such passion to help players strengthen their ability to push through setbacks and overcome obstacles both on and off the field."
  • DJ Stieber

    PT, DPT, CSCS, USAW, Pn1

Dr. DJ is an online rehab and performance coach helping soccer players use a strength based approach to get out of pain, stay healthy, & reach the highest levels of the sport.

Starting in a traditional outpatient physical therapy clinic, he saw the standard of rehab for athletes was outdated, boring and incredibly inefficient. Most concerning were the gaps in care between athletes coming in with pain and actually being able to return to the field.

That’s what led him to open The Athlete’s Edge Rehab and Performance, an online and in-person rehab experience catered to the needs of athletes.

Dr. DJ is especially passionate about the development and rehabilitation of soccer players, the sport he first fell in love with and continues to play to this day. He is active in his local soccer community, assisting various clubs, players and his former high school soccer program throughout the year with strength and conditioning, injury prevention, and rehab services.

His coaching approach goes far beyond helping athletes recover from injury, hit PRs, get stronger, faster and back on the field (although he loves helping with those things too). He recognizes that inside every athlete is a human and incorporates mindset training as a major component of his athletes’ journeys.

His mission is to provide elite rehab & performance services that were previously only provided at the elite and professional levels.to soccer players locally & beyond.
